From Marc DeWerth of Big Trees Ohio:
“I wanted to update you on your beautiful Swamp White Oak at your Big Oak Nature Park in the Saybrook area of Ashtabula county.
Big Trees Ohio took the opportunity to visit it again recently with Alistair Reynolds of the Division of Forestry.
We have determined that your specimen will be the new Ohio State Champion!
The former champ has fallen which opened the door for your amazingly old monster.
We measured your tree at 236″ in circumference, a LIDAR confirmed 96′ tall, and a 93′ average crown spread for 355 points.
Congratulations on your amazing Quercus bicolor.”
Sincerely,
Marc DeWerth
